CH Rockwood Hardwick CD CGC

My Stats

Donna brought me from England when I was 1 year old. Prior to that I lived with the Rockwood Harriers in a pack of ~70 Hounds. I was not old enough to have gone hunting yet, but I was in training and had already learned all about pack life.
I now live in Inyokern, a small town in the Mojave Desert. At first I had a hard time with the heat. I arrived in July and average high temps are ~110 deg F. After I shed some extra coat and learned to use my kiddy pool I fit right in. Whe it is too hot here I like to go hiking in the nearby mountains.
I have had a very succesful show carreer with many breed wins. I won the Harrier Club of America's supported show (like a national specialty) in 1994. I also have earned my companion dog obedience title. John has trained me to retrieve and jump for open obedience, but I don't really like it much.
My favorite activity (except bitches in season) is going out with the horses for long runs. I chase jackrabbits as a Harrier should and we have lots of fun. I don't usually catch anything, but the tracking is difficult in our climate. Hot, dry weather and little vegitation make awful scenting conditions.
I have lots of puppies now, many have become champions already, along with tracking and obedience titles. Jaunty and Hurry are two, I will publish a complete list later. Excuse any spelling errors (I'm doing well for a Hound).
